The Black UrnIn active developmentPatent pending
A proprietary, ultra high-end audio interface developed in-house by the Perkelium Records R&D department. Its core technology is patent pending. A working prototype exists and is being actively developed. When it ships, it becomes the one piece of the studio chain nobody else has: the final, analogue-faithful door between the room and the record.

Because nothing off the shelf was good enough
Extreme metal pushes converters, preamps and clocking harder than almost any other music: enormous density, extreme transients, long sessions at punishing levels.
The Black Urn is being designed from the ground up for that workload, and for a studio that refuses plugins and modelling of any kind: the chain stays analogue right up to its converters. A working prototype is on the bench and under active development. Until it enters the session chain, the studio runs on RME conversion: the Fireface UFX III for sessions and the HDSPe AIO Pro that captured Perkelium's released songs.
What the Black Urn is built for
Transient integrity
Blast beats and picked attacks arrive intact, with the front edge of every hit preserved from capture to master.
Density without smear
Layered tremolo guitars and orchestral textures stay separable instead of collapsing into a single wall.
Session-grade reliability
Engineered for long tracking and reamping days with no surprises, no dropouts and no drift.

Being actively developed
The Black Urn is a working prototype being actively developed by our R&D department, with the goal of entering the studio chain as the final stage of a fully analogue signal path. Its core technology is patent pending, and the design details stay in-house. Technical specifications and any future availability will be announced here and on Instagram.
